The Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) was formed in 1993 when the Eastern Suburbs Churches Football Association and the Southern East Suburban Football League joined forces.
Our 20 year history celebrates a journey of both turbulent times and positive growth, consistently underpinned by our loyal and passionate clubs and fans, spanning a vast area of the South and South East of Melbourne.
Today the SFNL delivers high quality senior Australian Rules football and netball competitions.
Our football competitions include 33 clubs that all have Senior and Reserve grade teams playing across three divisions. Clubs are also offered an Under 19s and Thirds competition.
The League netball competition now has teams playing netball across six divisions. This competition is of a high standard and demonstrates a League-wide commitment to diversity and inclusion.
To reflect the strong growth in Netball, in 2015, the League changed it’s name to become the Southern Football Netball League, now boasting 136 football and netball teams competing with over 4500 players and officials.
